Users and sessions from AI search engines (GEO) by month, April-October 2026
Background
The client is an online store for craft and art supplies. The scope of work measured in this case study focuses exclusively on the GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) channel. The timeline of activity spans from April to October 2026. Initial contact was established on May 31, 2026, with April and May 2026 serving as the baseline period prior to the start of actual implementation; therefore, data from those months are not attributed to optimization actions.
The GEO Challenge
The primary challenge was establishing an initial presence, making structured information accessible, and building organic traffic from artificial intelligence platforms and search engines.
Strategy
The SEO/GEO strategy document was approved around June 25, 2026. The strategy focused on tailoring site content and data structure to AI engine queries, alongside strengthening the authority and connectivity of brand assets.
Actions Taken
Throughout the activity period, the following steps were executed:
- Formulation and approval of the SEO/GEO strategy (June 2026).
- Creation of a comprehensive 17-page FAQ page at the bottom of the site.
- Writing and publishing monthly internal and external articles.
- Drafting dedicated technical and content guidelines.
- Linking the website to the store's YouTube channel and Facebook page.
- Sitemap fixes in October 2026.
- Monthly tracking, monitoring, and ongoing control.

- June 2026: 216 users / 245 sessions (a 12.6% decrease in users compared to May)
- July 2026: 316 users / 393 sessions
- August 2026: 593 users / 753 sessions
- September 2026: 790 users / 972 sessions
- October 2026: 765 users / 970 sessions (a 3.2% decrease in users compared to September)
- Overall Change (April to October): +532% (a 6.3-fold increase).
Business Interpretation
The data indicate an increase in the volume of traffic and sessions originating from AI search engines over the evaluated period. Alongside the overall upward trend, a 12.6% decrease in June and a 3.2% decrease in October in monthly user numbers highlight the inherent volatility of this channel.
Cautious Conclusion
The measured metrics point to growth in traffic from the GEO channel during the active months in 2026. However, these changes cannot be attributed solely to the work performed, and these data should not be viewed as a guarantee of similar results or an assured advantage for other businesses.
